STEPS takes your Internet privacy and security very seriously. That’s why we have chosen to use PayPal, the leader in online payment processing, as the exclusive alternate method of making your contributions to STEPS.
Using PayPal allows you to complete financial transactions online without exposing your financial information to any merchant, including STEPS.
Most likely, if you choose to use the STEPS Alternate Contribution Method to make your contribution to STEPS, you will find that you are in one of the following three categories:
(1.)You are already A PayPal member with a credit card or bank account connected to your PayPal account, in which case you will be asked to log in to your PayPal account and select the funding method, either your assigned credit card, bank account, or your PayPal balance, to complete your monthly contributions to STEPS. Should you choose to fund your contribution with the credit card or bank account assigned to your PayPal account, then an automatic transaction will occur each month for the STEPS contribution using the funding method you selected
If you choose to use your PayPal balance, then it will be your responsibility to make sure that your balance is adequate to complete the monthly contribution.
(2.)You Are already a PayPal member but without a credit card or bank account assigned to your PayPal Account, in which case you may log in to your PayPal account and assign a credit card or bank account for use with your account, then select the method of payment for your contribution to STEPS.
(3.) You are not a PayPal member. When you proceed with the payment process you will be given the opportunity to set up a FREE personal PayPal account to facilitate your use of the STEPS Alternate Contribution Method. However, we suggest that you take a few moments to set up a personal PayPal account before you begin the sign up process, in order to eliminate as much confusion for you as possible. When your PayPal account is set up, and connected to a funding source, either a credit card or a bank account, then simply login to the STEPS site and click the Join STEPS link in the menu.

I have been using several PayPal accounts since 2008, for both business and personal needs. I have both business and personal bank accounts connected to my PayPal accounts which allow me to move funds freely between them, as well as to use as a funding vehicle for payments that I might need to make for online purchases or just to send money to another individual. Additonally, I have a PayPal Master card assigned to one of these accounts for funding purposes. I have never had a negative experience related to the use of PayPal in the various ways I have used them. I have confidence in the safety and security of using PayPal for all my online transactions.
